The Start of the Mustang Addiction

Like many of us in the Fox Body Mustang hobby, I grew up in a car family. My dad was a car guy and also worked as a GM mechanic for the better part of 18 years. During my child hood there was always a different car at our house, you never know what my dad wound drag up to the house next. For most part it was GM muscle cars … Camaro, Chevelle, Nova and the likes. My dad would take care of any mechanical issues, slap on some paint and turn it into cash, it was a cycle. When I was 15 years old my dad brought home a 68 Mustang. The 68 would become my first car and also fuel my love for the mustang. Unfortunately my dad sold the Mustang and my search for a replacement began.

In September 1992 I purchased a 1986 Mustang GT Convertible. The car had been confiscated from the original owner when he was too impaired to drive and crashed. The car was impounded and later sold at public auction, it was purchased by a dealer in my area who had plans to rebuild and sale.
